There is a small window of opportunity when Utzon’s house in Mallorca is open to the public. It is available between 11am and 2pm on Fridays during a few months of the year. No tickets are required; you simply show up and are then allotted a half-hour time slot to experience the house.

During my visit, there were plenty of other people—probably around 50—arriving from all over the world. I was actually quite surprised by its popularity.

This house is definitely among the top architectural experiences. The house itself is incredibly beautiful, but there is also a strong sense of witnessing something quite historical within the world of architecture. Not to mention the dramatic and absolutely stunning location.
